about

The whenever studio album from The New Existentialists, Poetry is Theft has been awaited so long it's no longer our first. But these recordings may be the most bespoke we'll ever get, with protracted, and I do mean protracted, crystallization by producer Bob Frisbee at Frisbeeland.
Special guests are Don McGlashan, who arranged and played a lovely coronet melody for Flavor of Love, and Graeme Humphries, who played, like any true Country pro, an old Hammond organ that had to be restarted after every verse to stay in tune on Richard Leigh's It Ain't Gonna Worry My Mind.
Also note Chris Heazlewood's scorching Johnny Thunders guitar on Self-Interest, a song Bill Vosburgh of Christchurch art-rockers The Perfect Strangers taught to George in or around 1981.
These files, other than Mysteries of the Worm and Elton John, were liberated more by the historical forces favouring streaming over other modes of listening than by any proper transfer of ownership.
But here they are now, and you have lots of time to listen, so - enjoy!
